Watch Buzz Aldrin punch moon hoaxer in the face

No charges were filed in the incident.

Forty-five years ago Wednesday, Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins blasted off for the moon. Four days later, Armstrong walked on the lunar surface.

Twelve years ago, Aldrin punched a moon hoaxer in the face.

According to a Gizmodo report published yesterday, Aldrin slugged Bart Sibrel, a conspiracy theorist who claims that the six Apollo Moon landings between 1969 and 1972 were hoaxes, in 2002.

The incident went down at a hotel in Beverly Hills after Aldrin was repeatedly harassed by Sibrel.

“You’re a coward and a liar and a thief,” Sibrel tells Aldrin before being walloped in the face.

Gizmodo notes that no charges were filed in the incident.

The video has nearly one million views on YouTube.
